FNWM wins the 2022 Green Community Member of the Year Award!
Back in June 2022, the First Nations Waste Minimization Program won the Green Community Member of the Year Award!
Green Action Centre’s First Nations Waste Minimization program (FNWMP) supports Manitoba First Nation communities in advancing their waste reduction priorities, diversion of waste materials, and improving overall sustainability in First Nation communities around Manitoba, including the health of the land, air, water, humans and wildlife.
We’d like to thank Green Communities Canada for selecting us for this award! We appreciate your acknowledgement of the hard work the FNWMP team has been doing since 2018 here in Manitoba.

Vermicomposting Basics
Vermicomposting can be done indoors, making this option particularly appealing for people without yards. You can’t compost quite as much as you would be able to in a backyard bin, but you may be surprised to watch how much your worms eat. The worm castings make for great house plant fertilizer.
