WALKtober

WALKtober
Walktober is an annual event in which we encourage kids to walk to school at least once a week during the month of October. Not only does it provide activity before and after the school day, it removes the car trips normally taken to get to school. After a summer of poor air quality, I think we can all agree that less emissions are desperately needed. For older students, 12 and up, it also fosters independence.
How can I participate?
Sign up here to receive our new updated activity kit for kids age 7-14. Folks who sign up have a chance to win some prizes (check back as we update!)
We also encourage teachers or parents to track kilometres that their kids/students walk during the month. Submit your kilometre tracking sheet to asrts@greenactioncentre.ca to be considered for a prize! This activity is great for high school students as well! Prizes are high school friendly!
