Ryan Nykvist brings over a decade of experience in management consulting, project management, and sustainable development, spanning across environmental research, policy development, and community land use planning in Manitoba and Ontario. He holds an Honours B.Sc. in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Winnipeg and an Honours MBA in Finance and Leadership from the University of Manitoba.
He is the founder and principal consultant at Catalyst & Company, a business advisory firm dedicated to helping small businesses and public-sector infrastructure projects define and achieve their strategic goals. His work spans financial controls,strategic business planning, land use and environmental planning, and sustainability strategies. Ryan is also experienced in guiding organizations through financial uncertainty and market change. His background in restoration ecology and freshwater science informs his approach to sustainability and evidence-based decision-making.
Ryan is passionate about creating resilient, sustainable organizations and contributing to his community through policy development and strategic planning. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Manitoba’s natural beauty and the vibrant local food and music scenes. He is also a Director at the Scandinavian Cultural Centre and a Councilor on the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Small Business Advisory Council. On game day, you’ll find him cheering on his beloved Winnipeg Jets—through every win and loss.
